A message from Glen McPherson regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Most people who come down with the coronavirus may never even realize they have it, and if they do happen to show signs of the infection, hopefully, they will take normal flu precautions: stay home from work; cover their face when they cough or sneeze; wash their hands repeatedly and use hand sanitizer.

We can expect a much larger impact to our mid island communities. Qualicum Beach and Parksville are the two eldest per capita communities in Canada and as reported, senior citizens and those with reduced immune systems will be at higher risk.

It’s too early to see the potential impact of coronavirus on our local Vancouver Island Real Estate Market. Only you can determine your situation, of whether this is the right time, to buy or sell. There are concerns of how the virus will impact clients wanting to attend open houses or permit people through their homes. Furthermore, will buyers really want to be in homes they do not know the background of.

To make it perfectly clear, for my Buyers and Sellers, I want to share the following protocols which I will initiate immediately. Whether you are attending a showing as a Buyer, or viewing one of my listings, you can expect that I will attend all showings, with ample surgical gloves for all to wear, along with paper towels and disinfecting wipes. The names of all in attendance will be documented, and if it appears anyone has signs of the flu or cough, then access will be denied. There will be no exceptions.

I know that both the spread of this disease and our reactions and decisions about it will certainly affect the lives of individuals. For many of you, the steps we are taking to protect the health of the community may involve significant inconvenience and personal sacrifice. Please accept my gratitude in advance for your goodwill and understanding as well as my apologies for strict protocols.

To my senior clients or those with limited travel means. If you are unable to access supplies or transportation to get them, please reach out, as I have a vast network of a variety of individuals, who may be able to help you
